Please log in to request user rights.

Please read the policies and guidelines before you request special permissions. There are many kinds of special permissions that users can be granted. These include:

  • Rollbacker is a user who can quickly revert edits by other users. Handy for vandal fighters.
  • Users in the anti vandal group has ability to block users, delete and protect pages, create and edit abuse filters, and patrol edits.
  • Administrator (also called an "admin" or "sysop") is a user who can delete and protect pages and block users. Admins can also grant some permissions.
  • Bureaucrat (also called a "crat") is a user who can grant and revoke the admin and bot permissions.
  • Checkuser is a user who can see private information about editors (for example, their IP addresses).
  • Oversight is a user who can hide private information from everyone.

Rollbacker[edit | hide]

You must be an active member of About PCs Wiki, preferably with some experience in reverting vandalism.

Rollback must never be used to revert in edit wars, or to remove good-faith edits. Use the undo feature for this, and give a reason. Rollback does not let you give a reason when reverting. It must only be used to revert vandalism. It can and will be revoked if misused.

Administrator[edit | hide]

Administrator tools are there to better help the community.

Requirements[edit | hide]

While the only hard requirement for candidates is to have a wiki account, users within the community have their own expectations of administrators against which they judge potential new administrators during the RFA process. Some common expectations involve:

  • Duration and breadth of editing history
  • Appropriate/positive interaction with other users on the wiki and off-site
  • Understanding of the community's ethos and established policies
  • Trustworthiness/good judgment

Comments should assess the suitability of the candidate to be entrusted with the tools associated with adminiship as well as the responsibility of being viewed as a representative of the wiki community. Further insight into community expectations can be gained from previous requests.

Bureaucrat[edit | hide]

For the bureaucrat permission, a user first needs to be an administrator. There are special requirements at the criteria for administratorship for these users. The requests for bureaucrat uses the same page as adminships, but with special requirements.
